Scribner’s Catskill Lodge

I loved loved loved my stay at Scribner’s Lodge they had everything I was looking for in one place – a place to just chill / relax and recharge. It is super dog friendly which is so kind & awesome. Besides the room being dog friendly this one of our dogs favorite places for sure – they loved all the smells. They would hang out on our balcony and take all the smells  – there were a bunch of other dogs & the restaurant has an outdoor area that is dog friendly so we could hang out, chill with our dogs while we ate.

We also loved the pool – it was awesome with a view of the mountains and you could swim as you hear frogs & birds – we loved it & listened to great music.

I also was fascinated by the most amazing garden EVER it was so beautiful – I wanted to throw a party there – they have a communal table there which is so great but everything was starting to come up so it was so beautiful to see. Prospect is using the garden for their dishes which is so yummy !

The town is right down the road and adorable but really we had no reason to leave for a good 20 hours we just stayed right at the lodge.

The bed is so comfortable so I had a great sleep and the shower is super powerful – also the Rosemary & Mint shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash is one of the best ever – so I had to buy it.

The whole experience was perfect – go now in summer or fall or ski there on Hunter Mountain in Winter — just go because it is a great escape !

About the restaurant that is awesome – Scott ate a  burger & I had delicious pasta and we ended dinner with one of our favorite dishes  – a date cake dessert that was perfection. The staff is so lovely and came over to our table with great suggestions for Scott for a beer choice.

This lodge is amazing for relaxing and reading or toasting smores – which they have all the supplies for – and the sunsets are incredible.

There is a ton to see we really hung out and relaxed after breakfast and went for a swim so we did not have a ton of time before our next stop but we did want to go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaaterskill_Falls – which had a short hike on a paved road so super accessible and dog friendly – the area where you take the photo of the falls is a bit hairy – very crowded and wouldn’t recommend taking a dog too close but the hike itself was lovely and I stayed back with the dogs – the falls are amazing and worth a see. There is also a swimming hole and more to see but with being a pregnant state we decided to just do the paved trail.
