From Lake George we traveled to Saranac Lake. We knew we wanted to go to the WILD CENTER in Tupper Lake and we knew we needed a dog friendly spot – we found the most perfect airbnb that I would highly recommend if you are travelling with or without doggies. The owner Chris was so wonderful and had a ton of awesome recommendations plus the space was a great size and just so cozy. It is also in a beautiful town of Saranac Lake on one of the prettiest blocks ever and about 14 minutes to Lake Placid and 25 minutes to Tupper Lake so it was perfect. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15221773
While in Saranac Lake we went to the yummy Origin Coffee for breakfast that was so great ! There is outdoor seating ***

We wanted to go to Left Bank Cafe but they were not open when we were there but they are dog friendly as a point of reference
We did eat at Fiddlehead Bistro which was super yummy right in Saranac Lake – this is not dog friendly but since our airbnb was super safe we were able to leave the dogs and head right into town about 4 minutes way and enjoy a yummy meal !
We also walked to the HOTEL SARANAC which also has a cute shop and some restaurants and has a cool wall with the history of this area.
Saranac Lake town is super dog friendly as far as walking your dog around and enjoying the scenery. I heard that Dewey Mountain Recreation Center is very dog-friendly and a fun place to take a casual walk outdoors.
We drove to Lake Placid a couple of times while staying in Saranac – the town is also very dog friendly as far as walking the streets and there is a little park in the middle that has an amazing view of MIRROR LAKE.
I wanted to see Lake Placid and also wanted to visit the Lake Placid Lodge that reminded me of something out of a Wes Anderson film – the breakfast was very yummy and if you like Egg Benedicts – they have several different kinds – I couldn’t have it because of being pregnant but Scott had it and it looked great – I had the quinoa – yogurt – peach dish which was yummy!
