After Sharon Springs our next stop was LAKE GEORGE. Scott & I vacationed there before and it was so lovely. This time we did something a bit different and stayed in a campground area filled with areas to pitch your tent, cabins or what you would call a tiny house almost ( like ours ) and areas to park your RV. I wish I could show you some of the amazing set ups that people had on site — but I have never seen this RV culture before and it was awesome – people must stay for a bit of time and they bring plants, signs with their names on it, lights, rugs, gazebos and more. One set up was even more intricate then the next.
As you know CARAVANGIRL comes from my RV store’s name CARAVAN and I used to own a RV I wish I kept it but it was sold – but I am fascinated by RVs and now how you can set up your little Caravan area. Check this website out : https://www.lakegeorgeescape.com/accommodations/
Our babymoon trip wasn’t just about Scott & me but it was time to spend with the dogs before the baby comes too… so this spot was perfect because it was dog friendly plus just super safe for the dogs – we stayed in the sweetest cabin that would lock when we went out and had shades etc. When we went to dinner we did not have to worry about the dogs. Also the campground has a DOG PARK and tons of awesome areas to walk your dog. We arrived a bit late but we went for a swim in the pool and then we enjoyed the dj music at the campground pub & had some food from the grill. Scott said he had one of the best burgers there !! I have been to a bunch of campgrounds but not one as special as the Lake George Escape – it really made us excited for our son because there were so many families there and children going to tubing, riding their bikes, playing arcade games and more…. this is a place we will definitely be back to again soon.
We stayed within the Lake George Escape at Petite Retreats which is presented by Encore RV resorts and Thousand Trails campgrounds, featuring more than 180 locations across North America. Petite Retreats offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in top vacation destinations while enjoying unique vacation accommodations, including tiny houses, colorful cottages, cabins, yurts, and more. It was adorable and totally exceeded my expectations. Website: PetiteRetreats.com

We arrived a bit late in Lake George and when we did we really wanted to enjoy the campground so we just relaxed – went for a swim – ate some yummy food and we loved our tiny house by Petite Retreats so we wanted to hang out with the dogs a bit inside and outside on our deck. Also JAWS was on tv – there were two tvs inside the space so we sat on the comfy couches and took in one of the best summer movies.
