Most of us are tempted by foods and beverages we know aren’t good for us, especially if they’re part of our daily diet and not just an occasional indulgence. You know the usual culinary culprits – fatty meats, processed dinners, sugary desserts and salty snacks. Unfortunately, all of these foods – as well as such seemingly healthier staples as dairy products, animal protein and even low-sugar cereals – are responsible for generating acid-forming chemicals in our body that can over time lead to a troubling array of health issues such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, kidney stones, heartburn, chronic fatigue, joint pain and urinary infections. Multiforce – to help reduce acidity through an alkalizing powdered blend of essential minerals such as Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Calcium. Superior to any comparable product on the market, Multiforce helps your body to re-calibrate its pH balance between acid and alkaline to help mitigate the symptoms of numerous lifestyle-related diseases. Multiforce helps you live life, balanced. Multiforce is an alkaline powder that contains acid- reducing minerals such as Potassium, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Calcium to help support your body’s regulating mechanisms to bring it back to the right pH balance of alkalinity and acidity. Originally Multiforce was developed to counteract acidic diets high in protein, starch, and refined sugars that led to people being diagnosed with diabetes, obesity and more. In addition, Multiforce acts to mitigate the symptoms of acid-related issues such as osteoporosis, kidney stones, heartburn, gout, chronic fatigue, joint pain and urinary infections. Multiforce is incredibly easy to use – just mix up a teaspoon of the powder with water and enjoy it daily (preferably at night) or twice a day if required.

For those that know me know I have been trying to get pregnant for like 4+ years at least I have had several IVF attempts, an ectopic pregnancy but I am still trying. I loved it when I was sent the FERTILITY FOODS COOKBOOK – 100+ recipes to nourish your body.
i personally think a lot goes into getting pregnant there is no natural cure. If you are trying naturally – eating right and taking vitamins and getting accupuncture and exercising can help and all of that is still true for IVF etc – because you want to stay healthy to produce strong eggs. I tried all from bone broth to collagen. I think all of it can be helpful. Struggling with infertility can be one of the most frustrating experiences for women looking to conceive. Created by RDN certified experts, Fertility Foods provides powerful nutritional benefits and more than 100 nutritious recipes to boost fertility. Wendy B. Shelly, MD, praises the book for taking “the mystery out of what to eat, how to eat and most importantly, why to eat a nutrient-dense diet to optimize fertility.”
Fertility Foods also includes dietary breakdowns to help women understand what will help their body conceive, tips on managing stress and other lifestyle factors, heartfelt support and guidance from women who have struggled with infertility, and a how-to guide on putting together a healthy kitchen. Fertility Foods is more than just a diet plan or cookbook. It’s a companion, a constant support providing women with the information they need to ensure they receive proper nutrition before conception. It is important to know there is no quick fix to fertility — I am still not pregnant and I have been putting in the time – but I think anything helps so that is why I really enjoyed this book – the recipes are great – I especially loved their garlic hummus, white bean and rosemary, mediterranean veggie burger, and broccoli cheese soup – so many good choices & their pesto sauce was pretty amazing !

Speaking of smiling what about this lovely book that everyone should read so funny I said this needs to be a movie and sure enough there is a movie theater in place supposedly they say so exciting -http://findinggobi.com/film – Finding Gobi: The True Story of One Little Dog’s Big Journey – It’s very possible that at some point in the past year you’ve come across the extraordinary, heartwarming story of ultra-marathoner Dion Leonard and Gobi, the small stray dog who, in June 2016, became his unlikely companion during the grueling Gobi Desert Run — and subsequently inspired a worldwide, against-all-odds search to see them reunited after becoming separated in a city of more than three million people. About Dion Leonard:
Dion Leonard is a 41-year-old Australian who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with his wife Lucja. Dion has not only completed but competed in some of the world’s toughest ultra marathons across the planet’s most inhospitable landscapes. This includes running across the brutal Moroccan Sahara desert twice in the 250km Marathon Des Sables and also twice across South Africa’s Kalahari Desert, also 250km. Dion’s latest 250km race across the Gobi Desert in China turned out to be a completely different race, where he fell in love with a stray dog (later named Gobi) that followed him during the week and who would change both of their lives forever. Nowadays I am interested when possible in keeping things around I really need I get a lot of requests to review books but only want ones that I think can be very useful or I just would like to have around … I am also trying to do a lot with being less wasteful when possible – I use paper towels but trying to use more dishtowels when possible and trying to compost… This summer I gardened and I felt so resourceful I not only produced tomatoes, eggplant, lettuce, herbs and peppers galore I shared it with my neighborhood this was extremely rewarding when I heard about the Self – Sufficiency Handbook I was so intrigued – Henry David Thoreau once said, “Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.” In the new self-sufficiency guide by gardening authors Alan Bridgewatr and Gill Bridgewater, this statement rings true. Simple living is the name of the game in The Self-Sufficiency Handbook: Your Complete Guide to a Self-Sufficient Home, Garden, and Kitchen.
Practical guide with easy to read pages. It was written by Alan and Gill Bridgewater. They write about gardens often and this book discusses natural forms of energy, edible wild plants, how to compost a bit and some fun recipes as well. They show how to how to achieve the eco-friendly good life. The authors cover the ecological gamut from geothermal heating to crop rotation to soap making. “Our particular brand of self-sufficiency is all win-win,” says Alan Bridgeawater. “Your hard-earned money stays in your pocket, you are recycling stuff that would otherwise go to waste, and best of all you get to experience the exciting, therapeutic, hands-on skill-stretching challenge of creating something that, but for your resourceful input, would not exist. If you want to have a life-long adventure and enjoy a whole heap of fun along the way, then just stay with us.”
A bit ago I got a book sent to me I LOVE it is not sexy at all and I think I wrote about it before but it is like a little guide book for me called REVERSE INFLAMMATION NATURALLY and I believe that inflammation leads to a lot of issues- I have blood clotting disorder and feel I can reverse some issues it if I can relieve any inflammation in my body so I do revert to this book for tips – Reverse Inflammation Naturally ! A lot of people suffer from chronic inflammation and a lot of times it is because of our diet and also medicines that are prescribed – we need to start healing ourselves ! You will learn remedies, and all sorts of diet regiments – there are steps and fun instructions – this book was written to be very efficient and effective. I am not religious to this book but I try to follow it occassionally.
Speaking of being healthy do you know how important it is to take care of your teeth and EAT REAL FOOD – not junk food but real good food – I learned so many great tips from Dr. Steven Lin – get this – Despite having access to the best dental care in the world, 43% of American children experience tooth decay. In the US, 4 million kids are fitted for braces each year, and 10 million wisdom teeth are removed. One look into the anthropological record shows that dental disease is a largely modern phenomenon. Mesolithic hunter-gatherers had mouths with little to no cavities or gum disease. Widespread dental disease only surfaced, in fact, during the industrial revolution, when processed foods became prevalent in modernized society.
Six Myths Revealedin The Dental DietMyth #1 : Orthodontic braces are a necessary tool to ensure children grow up with properly aligned teeth. Truth: Orthodontic braces are masking over one of the biggest health problems on the planet.
Myth #2 : Brushing and flossing are the best preventive methods for dental health. Truth: Real dental health begins before you even have teeth to brush or floss. Tooth decay is actually a sign that the body is starving of essential nutrients.
Myth #3 : Crooked teeth are genetic, so the only treatment is corrective braces. Truth: Crooked teeth are actually the result of poor diet, non-functional bodily processes, and incorrect breathing technique.
Myth #4 :Impacted wisdom teeth are genetic, so the only treatment is surgery. Truth: Impacted wisdom teeth are the result of the jaw not growing properly. This is caused by the same factors that form crooked teeth. In addition to causing impacted wisdom teeth, a poorly formed jaw leads to poorly formed airways.
Myth #5 : Dental disease is a normal part of life and has been normal for all of human history. Truth: The anthropological record shows that dental disease is a modern phenomenon. It has only recently become “normal.”
Myth #6 : Bleeding gums are purely a dental condition. Truth: Dental conditions are related to processes that happen throughout the body. Bleeding gums could be a sign of something much more serious happening in your body. Chronic diseases like digestive disorders, auto-immunity, ADHD, type-II diabetes, depression, anxiety, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia may all begin in the mouth
The Language of Bacteria:
How Your Mouth Controls Your Gut
The human microbiome project has only recently discovered the wildlymisunderstood role of how the microbes in your gut control overall health. Studies are now showing exactly how our eating habits influence the body’s overall balance of bacteria. Dr. Lin shares a meaningful action plan that works to balance the populations of bacteria that live inside your mouth and your gut through a list of supplemental and traditionally-prepared, cultured foods.
There is a ton of great other info I don’t want to give it all away so buy the book here https://www.drstevenlin.com/the-dental-diet/#why-do-you
I also read because I was interested the SIRTFOOD DIET – I read it becasue on the cover there were some of my favorite things so I was interested – wine, chocolate and greens so figured I wanted to see what it was all about – I love when authors talk about the Blue Zones because if I can live to be 100 like some of the people in the blue zones I am going to follow that diet….. The Sirtfood Diet is the culmination of years of investigational research by its founders Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten – As experts in nutritional medicine and pharmacy, Aidan and Glen have long been fascinated by the natural compounds found in plant foods, known as polyphenols, and how they can be harnessed to improve health and even treat disease. They were especially captivated by how the drug industry was vigorously exploiting plants and polyphenols for their medicinal properties to create new drugs, yet they had been virtually overlooked in the world of nutrition. Intriguingly, the diets of the slimmest, healthiest and longest lived populations around the world – known as Blue Zones – had previously shown that the one thing they had in common was they were always very rich in these precious plant nutrients, about five times the intakes we consume in the West. And it was becoming clearer that the reason why plant rich diets were so beneficial was due to their polyphenol content. But it was the breakthrough finding that not all polyphenols are equal, and that a small group could mimic the effects of fasting and exercise through activating our sirtuin (aka ‘skinny’) genes that has changed the world of nutrition and wellbeing forever. Aidan and Glen identified the foods with the highest levels of these powerful sirtuin activating polyphenols and referred to this newly discovered group of wonder foods as ‘Sirtfoods’, and asked the question: what would be the results if you ate a diet specifically rich in all these foods? When they initially pilot tested this, they were stunned by the results. Participants lost, on average, 7lbs in 7 days, whilst either maintaining or even increased their muscle mass. Best of all they reported feeling great; brimming with energy, sleeping better and even reporting amazing improvements in skin. Of course this was well and good for the short term results, but what about long term? Around the same time, the results from one of the biggest and best nutritional studies ever conducted was published, and they were breathtaking. The study found that following a Sirtfood-rich Mediterranean diet dramatically slashed the risk of heart disease, diabetes, obesity and early death. The results were better than any previous nutritional study had found and far superior to any outcome drugs could produce. That was the final piece of the jigsaw Aidan and Glen had been looking for. With that in place they set about sharing their approach with the world, and so, the Sirtfood Diet was born. But that was only the start of the Sirtfood story. As hundreds, then thousands, then tens of thousands of people followed the diet, the real life results became apparent. Followers of the diet were experiencing rapid and sustained weight loss. But more than that, they were also seeing life-changing health benefits, reversal of their illnesses and profound transformations in their wellbeing. Since then, word has spread far and wide, seeing the Sirtfood Diet become an international best-seller, and changing the way the world eats, one delicious mouthful at a time. They have an amazing website you can check it out here http://www.thesirtfooddiet.com/get-the-book/
Speaking of wine … I do think diets and eating healthy is so important but I do think a good cocktail is also important the same way ice cream is important — I personally don’t think you should deprive yourself — but I do think when I have a glass of wine, sherry or a cocktail or some ice cream I want it to be great – I want it to be an experience so that is why I enjoyed checking out SPIRITS & COCKTAILS OF UPSTATE NEW YORK because I am a huge fan of Upstate and the Hudson Valley area and love hearing about new cocktails -This book is called Spirits & cocktails of Upstate New York. I have a bit more of an appreciation for rum since I had some delicious pina coladas while in Cuba and moijitos too…. From the Hudson Valley to the Niagara River, Upstate New York has a long and grand history of spirits and cocktails. Early colonists distilled rum, and pioneering settlers made whiskey. In the 1800s, a fanciful story of a tavern keeper and a “cock’s tail” took root along the Niagara River, and the earliest definition of the “cocktail” appeared in a Hudson Valley paper. The area is home to its share of spirited times and liquid legends, and the recent surge in modern distilleries and cocktail bars only bolsters that tradition. Don Cazentre is a veteran journalist who has been writing about beer and the alcoholic beverage industry since the mid-1990s. He is the craft beer, wine and spirits writer for NYup.com and the coauthor of New York Breweries (2nd ed.). He lives in Syracuse, New York. Btw I there is a flaming rum punch recipe that is delicious – and lots of amazing history of the area.
