CUSA TEA

Instant Tea that is Delicious !
Yes that is what Cusa offers !
It is convenient but it also allows you to have your “tea time” your “tea experience” – if you are a tea person like me tea time is a time for mindfullness. It is a time to say I am taking a break and going to relax with this cup of tea. A lot of the times that is not always possible – there are times that I don’t want to just run into a crowded coffee shop for my tea – I would rather have it on me but how do I do that in an convenient way – I can with Cusa.
Cusa must have found me because I am a tea fanatic – I love tea and will give any a try – I really don’t like any fruit teas like mango / orange/ apple not for me  I am more of a green tea, chai, matcha, earl grey tea fan.  I do love a good turmeric tea or rose  / lavender type – a good cinnamon or mint too ! I love it all I have about 3 cups a day. I was so excited to hear about Cusa. I love the founder’s tea story – Cusa’s  founder, Jim Lamancusa, discovered his passion for tea while exploring the traditional tea shops of Hong Kong as a study-abroad student. Inspired by southeast Asia during that first trip, he ended up living in the region for over two and a half years. While there, he received a complete education in the craft and culture of tea, visiting tea plantations and shops throughout China and India simply because he loved the experience of a premium cup of tea. Fast forward through fifteen years of dedicated tea drinking to a backpacking trip in the Colorado Rockies. As his friends prepared instant coffee around the fire, he steeped a tea bag he would have to pack out at the end of the trip and thought to himself, “why hasn’t anyone developed a high-quality, instant tea?” After returning from the mountains, Jim began to experiment with tea and quickly realized that existing production methods for instant beverages damaged tea characteristics, resulting in a final product that didn’t reflect the flavor and nuance of high-quality tea. After nine months of trial and error, he found a completely new brewing and dehydration process that could deliver a perfect cup of premium organic tea in seconds. This new Cold Steep Technology retained all the taste and character of the teas Jim hand selected from specialty organic plantations, and Cusa Tea was born. At Cusa Tea, their mission is to recreate the taste and experience of tea Jim found in the traditional Asian tea shops over 15 years ago in just seconds. Cusa’s convenient, single-serving packets will deliver a precisely brewed cup of delicious organic tea that’s free of chemicals, additives, fillers, or excess sugar when you need it.

Jim Lamancusa, Cusa Tea Founder

HEALTHY, DELICIOUS, CONVENIENT TEA

Legend has it that sometime around 2800 B.C. Chinese emperor Shennong discovered tea when leaves from a nearby tree blew into a bowl of hot water. He praised the resulting drink for its pleasant aroma, refreshing taste, and restorative qualities. In the thousands of years since, tea has become a daily beverage for millions of people around the world all drawn to the mental, physical, and social benefits of a fresh brewed cup of tea.

COLD STEEP TECHNOLOGY

When they founded Cusa Tea, we had one goal: create an instant tea that doesn’t taste like an instant tea. They wanted to create something that retains all the flavor and benefits of regular cup of premium organic loose leaf tea, but make it available to you in three seconds. However, the available technology behind existing instant beverage products damages the quality of teas either through over-brewing with too much heat (think overcooked spaghetti) or too aggressive dehydration methodologies requiring extreme cold temperatures. After nine months of new development and trial and error, they discovered our Cold Steep Process. Cold Steep Technology uses room temperature water and pressure to extract all the flavor and maximum goodness from our hand-selected teas. From there, they  vacuum dehydrate the cold brew, a much gentler method of dehydration, to concentrate the tea into crystals that instantly dissolve in hot or cold water. The result: a delicious, restorative, enjoyable cup of premium organic tea that can be made in seconds. It’s the next evolution in the thousand-year-old tradition of tea.

Sourced only from the finest organic tea plantations in Asia, Cusa teas are hand selected for their quality, both in cultivation and production. Much of a tea’s character comes from the sun-drying process when it is left out in the open for to oxidize and turn into Green Tea, Black Tea, or Oolong Tea for example. By sourcing from smaller farms in remote valleys away from sources of pollution like busy roads and other development, they can reduce exposure to pollution and heavy metals that can contaminate other teas. After drying, they select the finest leaves for our Cold Steep process. Like cold brewing, Cold Steeping allows us to “brew” the tea over 8 hours and extract all the goodness from the leaves without destroying anything with high heat or extreme cold technologies like most other “instant” teas you may have tried.

I received the Green Tea and really enjoyed it – ORGANIC GREEN TEA – $9.99
