Sophie Gamand THE GLASS HOUSE

This gives you a bit of background on this incredible idea that this photographer had and you can see results by these Pit Bulls now being adopted

It is Sunday of the exhibit you can still go today to the beautiful space of the INVISIBLE DOG ART CENTER

Expanding on my Pit Bull Flower Power photo series, this 2-day event coincides with Pit Bull Awareness Day (Oct. 28). This immersive art exhibit incorporates photography, never-seen-before paintings, installations and a virtual reality experience.

For the past decades, pit bulls have been demonized by society, often portrayed as hellhounds. This has sealed the fate of countless dogs who face prejudice, systematic abuse and death in shelters around the world. In America alone, hundreds of thousands of pit bulls-type dogs are euthanized every year.

The exhibit invites the visitor to question our relationship to shelter pit bulls, from the moment these anonymous and abused dogs enter the shelter system, to the soulful Flower Power portraits that celebrate their individuality.

Sophie Gamand is a French award-winning photographer and animal advocate living and working in New York.  Since 2010, she has been focusing on dogs and our relationship with them. Sophie travels around the U.S. photographing shelter dogs for free, to help bring awareness to their fate, and help them get adopted.
