MOUNT AIRY CASINO RESORT A FUN QUICK WEEKEND GET A WAY FROM NEW YORK

Hello Mount Airy Casino Resort !

Escape to Mount Airy Casino Resort in the heart of the Pocono Mountains like I did with my husband… I had an exhausting New York fashion week and was offered the opportunity to get away. Thanks to John Cook and everyone for organizing an overnight stay filled with everything to relax, laugh and have fun …. the Poconos are about 2 hours and 15 minutes from Bushwick, Brooklyn. It was an easy drive and upon arrival we loved the vibe – it had this very cool cabin / casino vibe overlooking a beautiful lake and golf course.  There is a little bit of everything – you walk in and you just think this is going to be fun – with this incredibly decadent chandelier to fountains that light up! You find out there are some amazing restaurants, a news store ( for magazines and goodies), a pool, a nightclub, a spa, a golf course, and a CASINO.

With over 1800 slots and 70 tables, you are sure to have a exciting night!  These slots were awesome everything from FRIENDS TO SABERTOOTH — there were so many cool machines to check out.  My game is typically roulette while Scott enjoyed some fun poker games.  There is a poker room that has it own bar and is somewhat quiet so you can really concentrate on your poker face.

Oh I forgot to mention there is a STARBUCKS !

So here I am in my Casino shirt a bit cowgirl a bit dazzling diva…. ready for my weekend away – the bed is super comfortable with tons of pillows.  The rooms are a great size and just feel fun – with lots of textures and are just really modern and pretty. I was super impressed with the vibe of the room.  It just felt cool and well designed. I am always preaching to my friends to go to this place in the Hudson Valley or that place and I still will but it was nice to try the POCONOS… I love Honesdale in PA and where the Crayola factory is but haven’t been to the Poconos in a few years.  There is a ton to do there from HIKES to outlet shopping to skiing in the winter to tons of swim parks in the summer so if you stay at the Mount Airy Casino Resort you can get out during the day and there a lot within a 10 – 20 minute drive from the resort.

I really wish I had one of these  https://www.instagram.com/andreeva.official/ casino looks for my getaway —this is my new designer obsession – a BRILLIANT collection ! I would have loved to roam through the casino in this dress but I don’t own it so I tried to wear sequins the whole weekend I sported this little All Saints Kimono I have that has a lot of bedazzlement on it.

Ok speaking of fashion and textiles the room had some really cool elements… They had these cool mosaics on the wall of all different leathers in a way with gold tones and snakeskins – it was like a textile wall coming from a fashion background I really liked this as the bed backdrop.

I also loved the texture of the carpet – there was also a cool wooden floor when you first walked in – it is the little details. Speaking of which the SERVICE was spot on. They answer their phone right away for room service, their bell man are so nice and so efficient, valet the same and the front desk staff was so great – everyone there is on point.  Also I noticed that the hotel really sported the uniforms so well – they looked great – I really liked the jackets that the bell man wore and thought everyone looked so fantastic.

We had a lovely foodie experience first stop was  Guy Fieri’s Mt. Pocono Kitchen – speaking of style  — Guy Fieri is obviously a chef that has amazing style  – look at his chef shirt – with studs and leather such a cool guy !  This spot reflects his signature style of authentic and surprising flavors. Guy has traveled over 150,000 miles across America’s back roads in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in search of the best regional fare: Guy knows American food to the core. The dishes are crafted with the heart and soul of hometown favorites and infused with Guy’s big, daring flavors. I ordered a sangria that was delicious and then an assortment of fries and a burger with mac and cheese ( this was a bit overwhelming for little me but interesting in theory ) – Scott had a more traditional bbq dish and enjoyed it.  The space has spunk – I loved the faux cowhide chairs, the American flag and the vintage artifacts in the front – they had nice deep booths – we love sitting a booth and hanging out – it was a great experience. You can eat breakfast, lunch or dinner there and you could eat all three if you wanted and eat something so different each time the menu is quite vast and prices are super fair.

There were waterfalls in the pool so cool we were laughing because there is a funny scene in EDGE OF SEVENTEEN when she is in the pool with a waterfall but then I was also thinking …

The outside pool wasn’t open but take a look during the warmer months the vibe  I love a pretty firepit

Then we went to freshen up and get ready to go the nightclub to see some fun comedy shows at GYPSIES LOUNGE which is such a pretty little club  – We saw Shawn Wayans and http://wilsylvince.com/  – I love Wil Sylvince – I will put him on one of my favorite comedians list – he is super funny – so many good jokes I am definitely going to see him again.  GYPSIES LOUNGE has amazing lighting and a really cool stage and fun artwork around.  It is super cozy and just a good time.

After the show we had an amazing late dinner that was filled with some of my very favorites in a beautiful spot with such an incredible staff.  Everyone was so friendly and kind and the food was just perfect. The wine was perfect, the after dinner cocktail was perfect, the music was perfect and of course my company of my husband was perfect.

This place makes the weekend really amazing – so you have this great hotel to stay in, then the spa, the pool, the night club, yummy food and then this amazing food experience from Bistecca by IL MULINO.  I have eaten at some of the top restaurants and I regretfully never ate at IL MULINO in NY – that will be happening asap.  This was definitely one of my favorite dining experiences. The restaurant combines it’s heritage of hand-crafted pasta, local seafood and farm-fresh vegetables prepared in the classic fashion of Abruzzo’s cuisine with the comforts of a modern Steakhouse, it’s meticulously selected meats hand-cut by our Executive Chef and it’s skillfully appointed Wine menu featuring the very best varietals from around the world.I discovered BLOCK NINE pinot noir that was so on point and we are dessert lovers and these were so incredible – we brought some home for my parents.

The dinner menu is so extensive and lovely with so many choices and there are of course specials as well. I loved the cocktail list because everything sounded like something I wanted to try + the after dinner wine list was really wonderful as well.

They had a raw bar, incredible pastas, vegetable choices, beautiful salads and incredible choices for steaks.
