Did you know avocado is good for dogs? I know I love this superfood and now my dogs can too !

wp-image-925733679jpg.jpgIt is so funny because I was just with my SIL (sister – in – law) we went glamping with our dogs and we had this whole conversation about AVOCADOS for our dogs.  She actually said she was looking at this blog that this blogger wrote all about how she gave her dog avocado and it made his coat so shiny…. that it is ok to give AVOCADOS to your dogs. I was always afraid. Everytime an avocado is in my house I worry when I am putting it in the garbage or when I am eating it …. but now I just learned something new and I am so glad I did because I am all about providing my dogs with healthy meals with lots of vitamins so they stay healthy and I was just introduced to AvoDerm Natural.  Get this ….

It is a common misconception that avocados are toxic for dogs, though numerous studies have concluded that it is actually only the seed and skin that contain persin that should be avoided. Despite the rumors, avocados are a natural superfood, full of nutrients, crude fiber, and contain vitamins A, C, and E, as well as B6. They are rich in folate, potassium, niacin, essential fatty acids crucial to good skin, and coat health, and they also help to promote overall health.

The avocado meal and oil used in the AvoDerm Natural pet products comes from the meat of the fruit and does not contain the leaves, bark, skin or pit of the fruit. The oil is extracted from ripened fruit in which the meat pulp has been separated from the skin and the pit.

AvoDerm Natural is perfect because your dog can get all the health benefits from Avocados but without the mess – no worries about them eating the pit. Please keep in mind that the seed can get stuck and cause a blockage so I would be very careful if your dog is around an avocado tree. Avocado trees produce 500 avocados a year so if you are around one keep that in mind – a dog shouldn’t just eat an avocado.  That is why all of the benefits are packed into this yummy food for them.

Look at Barrett she obviously saw me take out the bag and was getting ready :

“Did you know your pet’s healthy skin and coat are a sign of good health?”
For Barrett & Noel I have been trying the AvoDerm Natural Chicken Meal and Brown Rice Formula for small breed dogs and they seem to really like it – I feel like their coats have already gotten a bit shinier so look forward to seeing them continue having it.  The kibble size is the perfect size for them.  Protein is the first ingredient.  There are tons of antioxidants.  There is no wheat, corn, soy or animal by product meals.
