It was so exciting to be part of the first live stream for Martha Stewart’s facebook. Thank you Martha Stewart and the whole team at MSLO for making such a memorable day.
We were able to see Martha Stewart and her Executive Editorial Director of Decorating, Kevin Sharkey showcase some amazing holiday ideas. All of the items used were decorations from The Home Depot collection of Martha Stewart.

Martha Stewart made a wonderful point – I am always thinking real tree but it is so sad potentially to cut one down and you have the cost year after year when she has an incredible collection of faux trees that look real and beautiful – http://www.homedepot.com/b/Decor-Holiday-Decorations-Christmas-Trees-Artificial-Christmas-Trees/Martha-Stewart-Living/N-5yc1vZc3s7Z4tghttp://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Cranberry-Frost-Shatter-Resistant-One of her simple ideas was to place an ornament at each table setting right upon the plate – it makes the table setting look so festive.
The cool part is that Martha Stewart has SHATTERPROOF ornaments – I didn’t realize there was such a thing – BRILLIANT ! There were ornaments in group of reds, silvers and blues is from her North Pole collection at The Home Depot – http://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-North-Pole-Assorted-Shatter-Resistant-Ornament-8-Pack-HE-51182B/206444861
I love the craft space pieces and storage units – so many awesome ideas – it makes you want to do a DIY project each day ! http://www.homedecorators.com/storage-and-organization/modular-storage/martha-stewart-living-craft-space/
We also were able to learn about home improvement tools from Ryobi.http://www.homedepot.com/b/Tools-Hardware-Power-Tools/Ryobi/N-5yc1vZc298Z1aw
Now I have my very own drill too – so I can create my own projects including make a kissing ball topiary – one of the projects, Martha Stewart and Kevin demonstrated during the livestream while we were in the room.
Martha Stewart really knows all the special touches – they greeted us with a beautiful lunch consisting of these very memorable yummy egg sandwiches ! http://www.marthastewart.com/314646/classic-egg-salad
I also had the most delicious kale and quinoa salad on roasted honey nut squash, – Martha explained how she found this interesting squash – it is so delicious.

I was able to see one of our favorite Jenni from ISPYDIY – she helped Martha and Kevin with the garland project along with a few other bloggers.
The coolest part was seeing Martha creating one of these projects – she used a Ryobi jigsaw to cut these amazing wooden centerpieces – Watch the entire video from our Facebook event. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10153777397346289&id=32864016288
Lisa joined me and took some of these photos in this blog post.
Another fun activity was they showed how to make other decorations around the house and showed us the beauty of how to decorate with micro lights -they are so sweet on mini trees or in glass bowls and jars that you can decorate with fake snow / some decorations etc. You can make a little winter wonderland.
Then to suprise us some more they had the most decadent cookies, eggnog and hot apple cider.Check out this recipe – Noel Nut Balls from my web site, http://www.marthastewart.com/343489/noel-nut-balls – I point those out because my dog is named Noel ! I have to say my favorite was the gingerbread / chocolate cookie – everyone kept saying it was the molasses that did it – it was the best GINGERBREAD cookie I ever had and may ever have – it was so good. I would put it in top 10 most flavorful items I have had – I can still remember the taste ! These were Chewy Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies,http://www.marthastewart.com/339353/chewy-chocolate-gingerbread-cookies.
