This Sunday, Scott & I went to Williamsburg to play CATAN – along the way we ate at this awesome sandwich shop THE GENERAL STORE that makes incredible gluten free bread – so good ! We played CATAN at http://twentysidedstore.com/. They have awesome tea and snacks at the store too and the people are SO NICE – I can’t even tell you how nice, patient and inviting the team at TWENTYSIDED is – especially now that it is cold – go there have some hot cocoa and enjoy some board games.
While I was there – I also had the opportunity to meet the super talented designer behind this game that I bought as a gift for the holidays for someone that I think will dig it – it is a game similiar to APPLES TO APPLES where you create a dinner party menu based on some parameters given and there is a judge that votes on the best menu – it seems so fun. I really have a new found love for board games. It is called MENU MASH-UP by Karen Hudes. It is a great gift for chefs or at dinner parties. http://www.chroniclebooks.com/titles/menu-mash-up.html
My little cartoon of myself from the subway on Lorimer
On the way there we were at the LORIMER stop and I saw a sign for portraits by cartoonists so I stopped and got mine done – which was fun -they also had cool pop up store in the subway which supposedly showcases ZINES for sale – which I loved this concept. http://www.papermag.com/2013/06/the_newsstand_lorimer_stop.php
Check this film out by the agency that is involved in this zine pop up – http://alldayeveryday.com/
