Scott’s sister came to visit us this past weekend from Grafton, MA. I always try to think of different things we can do when we have visitors.
This time around we went on Friday night for Ramen at TOTTO RAMEN – there is always a bit of a line so I would put your name in and then go visit the wine bar across the street. http://www.yelp.com/biz/casellula-new-york On the way back we hit up http://schmackarys.com/ so good ! We went to a decent comedy show at HA comedy we did have two funny comedians at HA so it made it worth it for sure yet the first two were amateur and just rude the last two had some good material that made us laugh. http://www.hanyc.com/
We went to our favorite french restaurant for an incredible breakfast – I highly recommend – http://www.labergamotenyc.com/
Definitely check out the Hells Kitchen flea market there are some fun finds http://www.hellskitchenfleamarket.com/home/
The next day we went to this amazing wine bar/ restaurant ( such good food ) BACCHUS in Boerum Hill – it has an outdoor garden – our friend was having a party there but it was an amazing choice. It is on Atlantic Avenue so a great way to see Brooklyn and visit some great shops. It is in walking distance to other very cool areas of Brooklyn including Carroll Gardens. http://www.bacchusbistro.com/
Then at night we went to eat at the yummy Kati Roll and right across the way is the Refinery Hotel’s new restaurant – http://www.refineryhotelnewyork.com/parker-and-quinn
On the way to Kati Roll we heard this amazing band that is made up of 3 six graders that are amazing musicians – rocking out to metal and hard rock – they are called UNLOCKING THE TRUTH – check them out they are extremely talented –http://www.unlockingthetruthband.com/
Off to Serendipity 3 then where we put in our names and then hit up Dylan’s Candy Bar and took the tram over to Roosevelt Island and back while we waited the hour to get into one of our favorite restaurant places.
Today we went to visit Bryant Park – it is amazing they have a MAGNUM customizable stand – I love MAGNUM ice cream and was able to put goji berries and blue poppy seeds on my MAGNUM – and they also have the MAGNUM golds. http://www.magnumicecream.com
It was so cool because there are free magic shows in the park on Sunday’s in the summer for a whole hour for the kids http://www.bryantpark.org/plan-your-visit/lecarrousel.html
I realize over and over again how much there is to do in the city !
